About me
My name is Kellen Golightly, and I am from northern Utah. I am currently a student at Ensign College pursuing my bachelor's degree in communications while building a career in outdoor media, storytelling, and conservation.I am a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America and Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, and I serve as a volunteer hunting mentor through the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. I am also the creator and host of Bird Camp Radio, an upland game hunting podcast where I share conversations with hunters, guides, dog trainers, biologists, conservationists, and outdoor industry professionals from across North America. Through the podcast, I strive to preserve hunting traditions, highlight conservation efforts, and tell the stories that make the upland hunting community unique. In addition to podcasting, I work as a freelance outdoor writer with several hunting and conservation-focused articles that have been published or are currently in the publication process. My writing focuses on upland birds, hunting culture, wildlife conservation, and the people who dedicate their lives to protecting our outdoor heritage.I am also the author of Where the Grouse Once Drummed, a novel inspired by my passion for upland hunting, wildlife conservation, and the connection between hunters, bird dogs, and wild places. Whether I am writing, podcasting, mentoring, or spending time in the field, my goal is to help preserve the traditions, stories, and conservation values that make hunting and the outdoors so meaningful.
